Here, Thomas Düwer depicts a tranquil, almost classical scene: gondolas glide through thick fog, the shore sinks into pastel facades and subdued light. The composition is reminiscent of veduta painting, but the figures in the foreground bring the present into the picture – tourists with caps, mobile phones, selfie poses. The gentle blurring in the background contrasts with the clear detail of the boats. Light reflections dance on the water, everything seems frozen in the moment between movement and stillness...
