Stillleben II

In this still life, Thomas Düwer combines the sensual with the precise. Strawberries and grapefruit rest on a polished metal Alessi tray whose reflective surface fragments their image into geometric patterns. The fruit appears full, saturated with color and almost tangible, while the cool, hard reflections of the metal counter their organic abundance. This tension between natural presence and technical reflection gives the painting a striking sense of contemporaneity, familiar, yet subtly transformed through the artist’s gaze.
