Two Girls on Broadway

Thomas Düwer presents a rainy Broadway street scene whose pavement resembles a chessboard, turning the composition into a playing field. Across its glossy reflections, people move with strikingly different attitudes: some carefully shield themselves under umbrellas, others stroll unbothered without. Phones and headphones introduce a second, digital layer, linking the figures to a world beyond the street. The work captures the rhythm of urban life poised between protection and exposure, between individuality and shared circumstance.
