The wave at the moment of its inner radiance: the dark back lies heavy in the water, the spray begins to curl, yet at the center the green glows as if from within. It is not light from outside, no reflection, but a glow of its own, captured in the dense body of water. The palette remains reduced, almost tonal, yet the light feels physical. The transitions between plane and volume are soft but precise. One senses the mass of the water, its tension, its movement across the surface. The composition dispenses with peripheral motifs or depth of horizon. Everything is concentrated on this one moment: the sea takes shape, rises, carries its light within.
